Solution 1:

• Pull out the AC plug.


• Put back the AC plug while holding down the "Menu" button and keep holding it (15 sec): you're entering the Maintenance mode and "error 46" pops up in the display.


• Select 8 by using the arrow buttons, push "OK" and select "0" and push "OK"


• Message 00:00 00:01 OK appears.


• Push the "Mono" button 25 times until you see PURGE: xxxxx


• Select 2, push ok, select 7,push ok,select 8,push ok, select 3,push ok


• Purge counter indicates: purge: 00000


• Switch off the printer, switch it on.

Solution 2: reset the ink counter

• Press buttons OK, Menu, Mono Start one by one, followed by up arrow key four times. this should all be done as short a time as possible, around 3 seconds.


• Enter maintenance mode 80,  by pressing the up/down arrow key and set key to select numbers 8 and 0


• Press blue MONO start button to select PURGE which requires it to be pressed a number of times before PURGE appears on the LCD screen of the printer


• Use the up'down key and OK button to enter the reset code 2, 7, 8 and 3 keys to reset the counter.
  
  Press Stop/Exit key to go to root of maintenance mode.


• Enter 9,9 to exit maintenance mode

A. Entering into service mode

• Turn off the printer off is the printer power on. And remove the printer USB cable from your computer..


• While the printer is OFF, press and hold the Start/Stop button on the some other canon printers model press Resume/Cancel button.


• While still holding Start/Stop button or Resume/Cancel button, press and hold the POWER button.


• When the POWER LED (green light) lit, release the Start/Stop or resume/cancel button (still holding the POWER button).

B. Resetting Ink counter on the Printer

• Run “service_tool 1050.exe”. you can download the service tool software from this link: ServiceTool_1050.zip 

• Confirm detected USB-port numbers on USB port column.


• Click “Main button” on Clear ink counter section. Make sure there are papers in the paper feed because the printer will print after the process is complete.


• Click “platen button” on the “Clear ink counter” section. The printer will print again.


• Turn off the printer and then turn the printer on.

Solution 1:

• With the printer power on, disconnect the USB cable from the computer.


• Remove the ink cartridges


• Unplug the power cord. Wait for at least 1 minute. Plug the unit back in (press the power button if necessary)


• Wait for the "Insert Cartridges" message. Reinstall the cartridges
  
  Close the product doors


• If you receive a recalibration message, allow the printer to complete this task

How to solve Toner Sensor Error on Oki printers

After replacing your Toner or Drum you get this message: “Toner Sensor Error”.



This error appears on these printers: C3200n, C3520, C9200...



Solution:





Possible Cause #1: Toner cartridge may not be locked into the Drum properly or the Toner/Drum unit may not be locked into the printer correctly.



Resolution: Check the Toner cartridge Lock Lever (Figure 1) and make sure it is in the LOCKED position:

Possible Cause #2: Error may occur if the plastic Shutter / Flap on the side of the Toner cartridge is fully or partially down blocking the Toner Sensor window (C3000 Series printers).



Resolution: Move the Flap upward and out of the opening to allow for the Toner Sensor to become fully exposed prior to reinstalling the Toner and Drum combination. This is a simple, easy step you can perform. (Ref. Figure 2)



The safest way to move this shutter is either with a toothpick or something plastic. Do NOT use a paper clip or anything metal to move the shutter. A metal object may short out the sensor making the Toner cartridge useless.

Possible Cause #3: The Drum or Toner may be defective.



Resolution “A”:

Remove the Toner/Drum assembly (without touching the blue locking lever).

Look inside the printer to locate the sensor for the Toner/Drum assembly.

Blow canned air into the sensor to clear out any possible dust.

Wipe the sensor clean with an alcohol wipe.

Re-insert the Toner/Drum assembly into the printer.



Resolution “B”:

Swap the Toner/Drum assembly (without touching the blue locking lever) with another Toner/Drum assembly (if available).

If the Error stays with the Toner/Drum assembly, then you can assume the Toner/Drum is defective.

Normally you would start by replacing the Toner first. If that does not resolve it, then try replacing the Drum.

If the Error stays with the same location, then you can assume the Printer is defective.
